So what is Beauty Pie? In short, Beauty Pie is a luxury beauty buyers’ club where you can purchase luxury skincare, makeup and haircare products at cost price. Sounds great, right?!
A Little Background To Beauty Pie…
The founder of Beauty Pie is a highly successful entrepreneur named Marcia Kilgore. If you don’t already know who Marcia is, I’m sure you will know some of the many brands she started, including the very well known Soap and Glory.
After her tremendous amount of work in the beauty industry, Marcia Kilgore believes that consumers should not have to pay staggering mark-ups that are common practice in the beauty marketplace. Instead, she believes customers should only pay for the cost-price of the luxury product. Therefore, in essence, Beauty Pie removes the advertising, marketing and branding mark-ups for members and instead you just pay the cost-price.
I only recently discovered the brand around 5 months ago, despite it launching in December 2016 and to say I am hooked is an extreme understatement.
So let’s break the terminology down…
Cost-price = price to manufacture, package and safety test the products.
As a Beauty Pie member, you are able to buy luxury products without the luxury price tag. In order to have access to the cost-price, you need to sign up to become a Beauty Pie member. There are different tiers of memberships to choose from, depending on your budget. The membership options are briefly outlined below.
The type of membership you choose dictates the ‘Spending Limit’ you are allowed on the website each month. This is designed to, quite cleverly, keep you coming back for more!
The spending limit is based on the ‘Typical Price’ not the ‘Actual Price’. Let me explain these terms.
The Typical Price – is the price a similar product would typically be marketed at by a brand who sells the same or similar quality products. The inflation in price is due to advertising, branding, middle-people, celebrity marketing etc.
The Actual Price – is the price charged for the product when you are a member.
You can still purchase products from Beauty Pie without being a member but, quite frankly, why would you?!
Why You Should Become A Beauty Pie Member!
Let me give you an example to try and illustrate how much more beneficial becoming a member is:
Say you want to purchase a luxury moisturiser. The Typical Price is £100. The Actual Price (for Beauty Pie members) is £11. If you are not a Beauty Pie member, you can still purchase the luxury moisturiser for £100, or you could purchase a £10 membership (giving you a £100 spending limit) and purchase the luxury moisturiser at the members’ price. That would be a £10 membership plus £11 for the moisturiser, totalling £21 for the luxury moisturiser. So either £100 (non-member) or £21 (member). Do you see why I think you would be crazy not to be a member if you want to try the products?
