20 Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For The Special Person In Your Life

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it might be worth thinking about what you want to treat that special person to in your life.

To help you on your way, here’s some inspiration for gifts to spoil the one you love and will leave them feeling admired and adored.

1. A Monthly Bouquet Subscription

I mean who doesn’t love to receive a fresh bunch of flowers each month? A subscription to monthly bouquets really is the gift that keeps on giving with a new bunch arriving to your loved one each month.

My recommended place to order would be Bloom & Wild. They offer a number of different subscription options at different price points. Ranging from an ongoing subscription to a fixed subscription of 3, 6 or 12 months.

Use CHLOE BURNLEY at checkout for £10 off at Bloom & Wild.

Even if you do not want to buy into the subscription, you could just treat your lover to some doorstep flowers or a beautiful bouquet.

2. Photo Album, Scrap Book or Memory Box

This is an extremely thoughtful, yet inexpensive gift, which you both will treasure for years to come. You could either make a simple photo album collating all your pictures together from your relationship, displaying them in a beautiful album to look back on. Or you could compose a scrap book including pictures, special memrobilia from over the years such as transportation tickets or concert tickets.

A scrap book is a great way to document dates or specific memories that the picture depicts. These can both be kept as your special book or sit on the coffee table for guests to have a flick through and admire your memories.

You could, instead, make a memory box. Similiarly, fill a personalised box with all your special memories. Include pictures, tickets, special gifts, cards you have kept, love letters and other special items to reminice on all your happy memories and look back on in years to come.

Suggestions for personalised memory boxes, scrap books and photo albums:

These gift ideas will not cost you a lot in money but the time spent creating them will be greatly appreciated and will always be deeply romantic.

3. Blanket Hoodie

Blanket Hoodies are taking the internet by storm and its no surprise really. It is a snuggly, cosy blanket that you can literally wear. Ultimate heaven!

I think both men and women would love to recieve a blanket hoodie for all their chilled needs. They are perfect for chilling around the house in, layering up when you’re feeling a little cold or snuggling up in to watch your favourite films.

4. Luxury pyjamas

Pyjamas are one of my favourite things in the whole world and luxury pyjamas are elite. There is nothing better than snuggling down in some incredible quality pyjamas. You may want to treat the special person in your life to some cosy nightwear or perhaps a slinky number?

5. Personalised mug / socks

For those of you on a smaller budget or not wanting to spend a great deal, personalised items are the perfect option. In particular items like personalised mugs, glasses or socks can be a really fun and thoughtful gift.

There are a plethora of options for personalised items but I have set out a selection of my favourites below.

6. Waffle Maker

For the food lovers, and specifically those with a sweet tooth, a waffle maker is a brilliant gift idea. Not only could you purchase the waffle maker, but as a romantic gesture you could make them homemade waffles on Valentine’s Day! That really would be a wonderful 2-in-1 gift.

7. Conversation Starter Book

I recently discovered this book called 808 Conversation Starters For Couples: Spark Curious Chats During Dinner Time, Date Night Or Any Moment.

You can flip the book open on any page and start an interesting new conversation with your partner, on subjects you may not have discussed before. You never know what hopes, passions and funny stories could be revealed from the prompted questions.

8. SodaStream

If your loved one loves fizzy drinks, particularly sparkling water, a SodaStream is the perfect gift! I own one myself and its absolutely fantastic. You add water from the tap into the provided bottle, place it into the SodaStream and press the button for a few seconds. Literally in seconds you will have sparkling water!

You can then purchase a variety of different syrups which can be used to flavour the sparkling water. Anything from diet cola to fizzy orange or lemonade. Alternatively, you could just add a fresh slice of lemon or lime to your sparkling water.

9. Stylish Mugs & Hot Chocolate or Coffee Sets

Hot chocolates and coffee sets are a great gift idea for a hot drink lover. You can buy pre-made sets or subscriptions of both coffee and hot chocolate or you could make your own little hamper or gift set including some of their favourite products and flavours.

I would highly recommend these double walled latte glasses. They retain the heat amazingly, the are not hot to touch. Plus, they are both chic and elegant glasses… and VERY instagrammable!

This would also be a great time to incorporate a personalised item, such as a personalised mug or glass.

10. Cookbook

For those with a passion to cook or perhaps those in need of a little helping hand in the kitchen, a cookbook would be an amazing gift. There are a huge variety of cookbooks with different cuisines, cooking methods and chefs to choose from. You can go down the savoury route or perhaps the sweet, if your loved one prefers baking.

I will leave some of my top suggestions here.

For the person looking to lead a healthier lifestyle:

For the master chef:

For the baker:

For the bread lover:

11. Bathtub caddy tray

You may have seen these all over Instagram and Pinterest and I honestly think they are up there with one of the best inventions. A bathtub caddy tray lays over the width of the bathtub allowing for a storage space for your favourite products and a place for your electronic tablet to sit.

I think the special person in your life would be thrilled that they can watch their favourite Netflix series in the tub, whilst pampering and having a long soak. The ultimate indulgent pamper.

12. Dyson Airwrap / Revlon Dryer

If you follow me on my socials (Instagram or Youtube) you know a Dyson Airwrap is a no brainer for me as a gift. I won’t divulge into all the details of the Dyson Airwrap here (because we would be here for a long time) but in short, it was the best thing I purchased in 2020. It gives a salon blow dry at home and styles hair from wet to dry perfectly every time. Its an expensive styling device, but it is worth every penny!

I will leave a link to my youtube video if you would like to learn more about the Dyson Airwrap.

If the Dyson Airwrap is completely outside of your budget but you would still like to treat your loved one to the gift of being able to give themselves fabulous hair from home, then perhaps consider a styling hot brush, such as the Toni & Guy Dryer or similar alternatives. They still style the hair from wet to dry, providing lots of volume and even a nice flick to the hair. They are not as versatile as the Dyson Airwrap, but for a fraction of the price they are still an incredible product and gift idea.

13. Customised makeup bag or toiletry bag

We are back onto personalised items. I honestly think they are such thoughtful gifts with minimal effort. Sticking with the beauty lovers, a customised makeup bag would be the perfect option. You can get the classic, understated personalisation or you could even go for a characture personalisation.

For the men in your life, this is a perfect gift idea, and one that has gone down very well as presents with the men in my life (by that I mean my boyfriend and dad!). Chester, my boyfriend, loves his faux leather toiletry bag with his initials embroidered on and my dad loved his personalised gym bag which I bought him for Christmas.

As I say, it is a super effortless gift but one that the special person in your life will treasure as it is so personal to them!

14. Luxury Blanket

If you haven’t already sussed a continuing theme throughout this gift guide, we love a little luxury and things that feel luxe and expensive. There is nothing better than snuggling up with your loved one in a cosy blanket, but I always find the luxury labelled blankets are always better! They retain the heat better, they are usually softer and they retain their fluffiness when washed. So I definitely think this is a department where you could spend a few extra pounds to gift an incredibly soft luxury blanket.

15. Candles

Sticking with the luxe theme, candles are always a winner. They may sound a little cliché and if you buy your partner candles year after year they may lose their individuality. However, if you don’t usually treat your loved one to a candle, then I think a luxury one would really lighten up their life…(see what I did there!).

Some of my top recommendations depending on your budget are as follows:

16. Pasta Machine

We’re back onto foodie gifts, I knew it wouldn’t take long. For those feeling a little extra or up for a bit of a challenge or who, quite frankly, love pasta… this is the perfect gift for you! A pasta machine is quite a boujee yet practical gift. You can have fun together making some homemade pasta, an accompanying sauce and a glass of delicious wine. Sounds like the perfect date night to me!

17. Lumie alarm clock

Does your partner struggle to wake on a morning? A little bit of a sleepy head? Sounds all too familiar to me! Well the newest craze to help with waking on a morning is an alarm clock that wakes you up with a mimic of the natural sunrise so you feel refreshed when you wake. A Lumie alarm clock uses different colours, starting from a deep orange to a bright yellow light to help you feel wide awake. There is also a setting to use when you want to go to sleep, naturally dimming to help you drift off.

If you are not wanting to spend the money on a Lumie alarm clock there are many alternatives which have similar concepts. Here are some of the best ones I have found.

18. Neom Wellbeing Pod

I adore Neom as a brand and lots of the products they create. They are a very luxurious brand and owning some of their products, whether it be candles, reed diffusers or bath products, really make you feel like you have nailed self-care.

The Neom Wellbeing Pod is the absolute pinacle of calmness and relaxation in your own home. It is a small device, a little pod, which you fill with water and a few drops of your favourite essential oils. The pod then creates a fine mist which is infused by the essential oils and diffuses the smell around your home or chosen room. I use mine both during the day and night. It has a light function which acts as a very soft night lamp and a timer so you can select how long you want the pod to remain switched on. The timer feature is perfect when you’re falling asleep as I know I can leave my Wellbeing Pod running and it will switch off within the hour.

This is again, a luxurious gift, but both male and female partners will appreciate greatly. It is the ultimate relaxation tool and perfect no matter what your hobbies are around the home.

19. Polaroid camera

Taking pictures is making memories. Give the gift of the ability to capture some of your special memories together on a polaroid camera. It is super easy to take the picture and print out immediately onto a very aesthetic polaroid which you can display around your home, or as suggested early in a photo album or memory box.

I saw a lovely idea on Pinterest that each Christmas you can take a picture on your polaroid camera and make it into a Christmas tree decoration, growing the pictures over the years.

20. IOU Voucher

Perhaps because of the uncertain times were currently facing you do not want to financially (or emotionally) invest in a gift which may not be used, such as an experience or a trip away. Instead, you could make them an IOU voucher, telling them that you owe them a romantic trip away or a dinner for two at your favourite restaurant. When plans can be more solidified, you can treat them to whatever you said you owed them – that way you both have something you look forward to in the future!

Alternatively, you could make an IOU voucher that does not cost you any money but is instead something your partner loves.

Some ideas for your IOU Vouchers:

  • A night of you cooking a 3-course meal at home;
  • A massage;
  • Running them a luxury bath;
  • Washing the car for them;
  • Having just you two time;
  • Your favourite takeaway food;
  • A film and food evening; or
  • Breakfast in bed.

So those are 20 ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts. I hope these ideas fill you with inspiration to treat your loved one to something this Valentine’s Day – whether it be something small and thoughtful or a bigger gesture that you know they will appreciate.

However you choose to spend your Valentine’s Day this year, I hope you have a day filled with love & happiness!

Lots of love, Clo x
